The United States Women's football team beat Japan 5-2 in an exciting last to win the FIFA Women's World Cup in Vancouver on Sunday. This is the third time USA have won the Women's World Cup after they last won it 16 years prior.

Japan were never in the diversion as USA dashed to a 4-0 lead in just 16 minutes. Carli Lloyd was the star of the match with a cap trap – the first run through a player has scored thrice in a World Cup last.
